Buskers’ Bash
October 4
Busker (noun): a person who entertains in a public place.
The 11th Annual Buskers’ Bash will take place on Friday, October 4. The public (aka “audience members”) can visit, eat, and shop in Downtown Salisbury from 5 to 9 p.m. Buskers will showcase their talent from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
Buskers’ Bash is an annual event that celebrates the best local talent from bands to dance groups to aerialists, to solo musicians to fire-tossing jugglers, and every other type of street performer in between. Downtown shops stay open later and offer various discounts! The eclectic crew of sidewalk artists, typically amounting to over 30 acts, perform in front of participating downtown businesses.
The public can pick up maps from Rowan Museum (202 N. Main St.), City Hall (217 S. Main St.), and near Barnhardt Jewelers (112 E. Innes St.) and follow the path to enjoy the evening’s entertainment. In addition to the maps, visitors will also receive a bag with five (5) special Buskers’ Bash guitar picks to vote for their favorite performers by dropping a pick(s) in the performers’ bucket (one bag per person or until we run out.) At night’s end, winners are announced at the Grand Finale location (New Sarum Brewery, 109 N. Lee St.) and awarded awesome prizes.
