Little League Girls Win World Series

For the second time in four years, Rowan County’s Little League softball team reigned as world champs after defeating Louisiana in the World Series. Rowan got off to an early lead and never looked back, winning 4-1 at Alpenrose Stadium in Portland, Oregon.

The team was honored with a Welcome Home Parade and a Congratulatory Rally at the Salisbury Community Park ball field. Nevertheless, if you thought all the talk about the Rowan County Little League girl’s softball team ended once the victory parade was held you were wrong. The fun is only beginning! The girls made the news again, this time in a successful effort to be recognized by making a visit to the White House.
